Record Turnout For Early Voting

From Saratoga Today Newspaper:

Here are the total unofficial tallies of 9 days of Early Voting in Saratoga County, from the hallways of county Board of Election headquarters in Ballston Spa on Monday with pencil & paper.

Total votes: 41,769. This is nearly one-fourth (23.5%) of ALL registered county voters.

Registered Democratic Party: 15,002. This is 28.6% of all Registered Dems in the county.

Registered Republican Party: 14,456. This is 22.9% of all Registered GOP’s in the county.

Registered as unaffiliated with any Party (NoP): 9,687. This is 18.1% of all Registered NOP’s or “Blanks.”

Remaining 2,624 votes are from those Registered with all other parties: Conservative, WF, and other 3rd or independent parties.

NOTE: The nine days of Early Voting took place Oct. 26 – Nov. 3. Each day had more than 4,000 voters. The busiest day was Day 9 (Sunday, Nov. 3) when more than 5,100 voted.

Also: figures are voters by Registered Party – NOT the candidate they voted for, so any interpretations of which candidate garnered the most votes is anyone’s guess or hopeful optimism.

N.Y. first went to an early voting system in 2019, after state lawmakers and Gov. Andrew Cuomo approved the change to the state’s election law. The only time a presidential race featured an Early Voting option was 2020 aka the Year of COVID, so any Early Voting number comparisons to that year would be suspect.
